Skills: Data Analysis
Overview
During the summer between my first and second year at Junior College, I interned at the Institute of Space Sciences and Astronomy (ISSA) to gain hands-on experience in space sciences.
I worked with Mr Connor Sant Fournier and Prof. Jackson Said, starting with foundational Python tasks such as plotting data, running calculations, and analyzing simple datasets.
Key work completed
- Built confidence with Python for scientific data analysis
- Developed increasingly complex analysis scripts as the internship progressed
- Created a basic satellite-orbit simulation around a planet
- Analyzed NASA exoplanet data and built a comparison tool for planetary properties
Outcome
This internship strengthened my programming and mathematical skills.
